Xillan Macrooy (1993) grew up in Suriname together with his twin brother. In his early twenties, he moved to the Netherlands to study at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. In addition to his debut novel People Like Suns and People Like Moons, he is also creating the performance A Coming of (R)age Ritual, and releasing his music album Son.
